stART Something / Arts in Education


AIE promotes learning in and through the arts in throughout Adams, Franklin, Fulton and York counties. Schools, community organizations and senior centers are invited to collaborate with highly trained teaching artists to custom-design learning experiences for their site. stARTSomething is a regional partner with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Cultural Alliance of York County.


This video introduces us to the Crispus Attucks Senior Living Center. Memories are precious. Fourteen seniors used their memories as prompts to design their own altered pages poems under the gentle guidance of teaching artist, Jennifer Hill. CLICK HERE TO VIEW VIDEO

The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) is a state agency charged with the development and promotion of the arts in the Commonwealth. To accomplish its mission, the PCA encourages educational excellence through participation in the creative process in schools and educational settings. Study of the arts provides Pennsylvania’s youth with positive models for teamwork, project management and goal setting, along with opportunities for academic achievement and intellectual and emotional discovery.
