Folk Musician

My goal is to teach an understanding of the history, construction and playing of the hammer dulcimer, lap dulcimer or bowed psaltery, which students will construct. Additionally, all students learn folk dancing and song writing. With 30 years of instrument building and 40 years of performance, I will impart my skill and knowledge in a positive and upbeat manner. I give generous acknowledgement for their accomplishments. They have always enjoyed the experience. My teaching environment is relatively orderly, productive, friendly, quiet and respectful.
